shopping spree

it's a shopping day today. seeing that it was still early and we had plenty of time to wander around the city, we let the crew go shopping at mustafa shopping mall first thing. the hostel we were staying in, fernloft, was in a perfect location for shopping at mustafa which opened 24/7. goods are incredibly cheap and there are plenty of things to buy here.. we shopped what we couldn't find in thailand..

so after breakfast at the hostel, we walked them to mustafa, following the direction the guy at the counter told me. it was easy to find and within a walking distance..

can you believe that? we'd been inside mustafa for nearly half day. getting out of it, it was nearly lunch time so we fixed our lunch at the restaurant nearby mustafa. the foods were delicious and quite similar to thai food. everyone was happy with the foods they picked.. and wanted to come back again for dinner..

after the lunch was fixed, we walked back to the hostel to leave our shopping in the room and then hailed 3 taxis to singapore flyer.. this time joon, jiab, py and i didn't do the ride bc we did it on my previous trip..

at the entrance entering the venue, there were some wall arts along the corridor. cute cute cute..

it was a bit hard to get a taxi in front of the hostel so while waiting for the last taxi to arrive, i walked around shooting..

then we walked up to an italian ice cream parlour

a hot sunday afternoon with different flavors of italian gelato to share..yum!!! best sunday ever!

and now it's time to ride the flyer. while they were in the tube hiking up, joon, jiab, py and i hid inside an air-con coffee shop inside the building. and here we ordered a piece of choc cake and hot tea.. heaven!!

pictures taken while they were on top of singapore.

all of us met again after 30 mins passed.

after everyone was ready, we hailed another 3 taxis to orchard road. our rendezvous was center point, another shopping spree! i am not a big shopper but on this trip, i had something to hunt for (a garmin pedometer watch and a book called 'the girl who kicked the hornet's nest).. and it got them both! (but instead of a garmin, i got a timax which is fairly equipvalent.).. some girl might go for charles & keith's bags/shoes when they are in singapore but for me, i go for a running gear and a book.. forget to tell you.. at mustafa, i also bought a new pair of running shoes.. i chose New Balance this time, just want to try something new.. and i was so happy with my successful hunting!!

reaching center point in orchard road, everyone went inside looking for what they wanted. i slipped inside the first bookstore i saw and immediately saw the book i was hunting.. it was way cheaper than buying in thailand and i was not so sure if it arrived there yet.. the book was 500+ page with 3" thickness.. gosh, i am going to savor it for a month.. it's the last installment of the trilogy, so i don't want to hurry finishing it..

at 4.30 pm, we ganged up at the same place and queued up to get 3 cabs.. i was the last one to be there. as after getting the book, i furthered my jouney deep inside the mall looking for the watch. i stopped at timax counter and started chatting up with the guy at the counter.. i was there for nearly an hour shooting questions at him and finally bought it.. it was what i was looking for.. it gauges distance, steps, calorie burnt, time, alam etc.. (so far, i still try to figure out how to operate it!)

after a long day walking at orchard road, mustafa and singapore flyer, everyone looked like they need a nap.. so we headed back to the hostel.. and took a long nap!

but some aunties headed back to mustafa!

we fixed our dinner at the same restaurant near mustafa and walked back to the hostel. one of my aunt still hadn't got a pair of clarks shoes for her hubby so she asked where we could buy it.. my sis suggested we try the malls at casino complex called Marina Bay Sands. so here we went out again at 9.30 pm..

Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay in Singapore. Developed by Las Vegas Sands, it is billed as the world's most expensive standalone casino property at S$8 billion (US$5.7 billion), including cost of the prime land.

With the casino complete, the resort features a 2,560-room hotel, a 120,000 sq.m. convention-exhibition center, The Shoppes mall, an Art & Science museum, two Sands Theatres, six "celebrity chef" restaurants, two floating pavilions, a casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. The complex is topped by a 340m-long SkyPark with a capacity of 3,900 people and a 150m infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world's largest public cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 67m.

hopping into the taxi, we took phun with us too as he just woke up from his nap and he was in full alert. the boy won't sleep easily after that long nap.. he is quite a night owl.

walking and looking for clarks. as the mall closed at 11 pm, we had one hour to shop. this was surely 'shop until you drop!'

and we finally found it!

as the mission was jolly completed, we headed home now!

after my aunt was happy with the shoes she eagerly bought them for her hubby, we walked out and lined up at the taxi stand in front of the building and got back to the hotel before midnight.. tomorrow is going to be a big day.. stay stalking!!
